Pursuing the NBA of Science

I have been a fan of sports, particularly basketball, my entire life. Like any high school kid with at least marginal talent, I had dreams of playing college basketball and then professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA). As with most goals, I worked to achieve my dreams with an almost one-track mind, like a race horse with blinders only able to see the course ahead. I strived to get the most out of my athletic talent and become the best player I could be.
